The latest KoBoLT on November 25-26, 2023, marked the impressive 14th anniversary of the Bonn qualification run for marathons. Despite harsh weather and ground conditions, there were three course records. As a committed sponsor, BusinessCode was once again involved in this annual event.

Originally founded in 2009 by three passionate runners who participated in challenging mountain marathons, the KoBoLT has developed over the years into a staple of the Bonn running scene. The visionaries behind the race not only designed the route but also organized the start and finish points, mobilized helpers, and started in 2010 with 25 brave participants who daringly took on the first KoBoLT over 140 or 106 kilometers in snow and sub-zero temperatures.

Thanks to the tireless commitment of organizer Stefan Scherzer and a fantastic team of helpers and supporters, the race, known for its challenges during the cold season and demanding elevation gain, has been continuously developed. The number of participants grows year by year, and the KoBoLT has established itself as one of the most beautiful and challenging qualification runs in Germany.

BusinessCode shares this combination of a family atmosphere and top-level competition and has been enthusiastic about supporting this project from the start. The connection to sporting activities is deeply rooted in our company, whether through employees or their family members who are passionate athletes themselves.

Our support for the KoBoLT 2023 was evident through comprehensive sponsorship of the race, which again attracted many enthusiastic runners this year. The finishers defied the elements, and there were even three course records under these weather and ground conditions. The commitment to sporting events and local institutions aligns with our philosophy of acting internationally from the region.

BusinessCode as athletes training in their hometown yet competing at the forefront of international competition – a fitting comparison With the institutions we support, we share the goal of making Bonn known beyond the city limits – and with considerable success that can be seen.
