Inside BusinessCode: Jan Henrik Hase

My name is Jan Henrik Hase, and I am 26 years old. I have been working at BusinessCode as a student since February 14, 2022.

I found my way to BusinessCode through a friend and fellow student who has been working at the company for a while and referred me. So, we have been colleagues for almost four weeks now.

In search of a company for my practical project (which is what we call our internship in the curriculum), friends and fellow students suggested several firms, including BusinessCode. After discussing with multiple companies, I ultimately decided on BusinessCode because I have the opportunity to work on the backend here. Additionally, the positive outcome of the job interview and my friend’s experiences contributed to my decision-making process.

In my daily work, I primarily deal with APIs. This means I am in contact with the API providers and gather information about their APIs. An important part of my routine is the daily digital BusinessCode team meeting. This includes tasks related to programming the APIs, as well as a lot of information gathering to solve problems that arise during programming.

I particularly enjoy it when a problem that has been holding me back for a while is solved and finally works as it should. This also involves exchanging ideas with the team to solve problems.

Currently, I am working on the SmartOcean project, where I can contribute my ideas and expand my skills.

To get started at BusinessCode, you should be proficient in programming. Experience with the Java programming language is also advantageous.

I would recommend applying to BusinessCode to my acquaintances. The work environment in the company is very relaxed yet motivating, and the friendly and helpful employees, as well as the superiors, contribute to a more than pleasant workday.
