CEO Martin Schulze will speak together with our customer Hellmann Worldwide Logistics on the topic of “Climate protection in aviation – what role does digitalization play?“
June 28, 2022 Together with their customer Hellmann Worldwide Logistics, BusinessCode will give a presentation on “Carbon Emission Transparency in Air Freight Logistics” on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, 3:10 pm. Martin Schulze, CEO at BusinessCode, and Henning Pottharst, Head of Global Smart Solutions Tracking and Innovation, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics, will present the BlueBoxAir solution and its use in practice. Special attention will be paid to the topics of sustainability and climate protection. Digitalization can help to achieve the climate protection goals that have been set. BusinessCode will present its BlueBoxAir tracking tool to show how.
BlueBoxAir enables tracking of air cargo. Through the IT-supported monitoring of the cargo in real time, BlueBoxAir creates comprehensive transparency about various stations on the way to the destination and this independently of the respective carrier. The more precisely one knows where the shipment is located, the better and more resource-efficient downstream stages can be planned.
The basis of the tool is a web-based platform on which all information on air freight shipments is clearly compiled, regardless of airline, region or shipment type. The IT solution lists all shipments and displays the latest events of all shipments as well as the respective shippers in a dashboard. A live image visualizes the GPS coordinates of the aircraft with the cargo, which are differentiated by color according to “delayed”, “imminent delay” and “on time”. At a glance, it is possible to see what needs to be done. And as additional components, an accurate calculation of CO2 emissions is made based on the tracking data.
“With a view to the existing analysis and evaluation function, BlueBoxAir facilitates the choice of the right carrier and optimal routing in the medium to long term,” Schulze emphasizes. In this way, the topics of transparency in ongoing operations, strategic supply chain management and sustainability are supported with one system.
Digital transparency across the entire supply chain in real time is the basis for fast action, more sustainable use of resources and climate protection, especially in times of disrupted supply chains. “As much CO2 as necessary, as little as possible,” Schulze concludes.
Transparency is an indispensable prerequisite for the sustainable use of resources, which must be conscious and targeted. And this is exactly what BlueBoxAir makes possible in air freight.
