Martin Schulze stands for election to the Bonn/Rhein-Sieg Chamber of Commerce and Industry General Assembly

Bonn, September 15, 2026. Martin Schulze, Managing Director of BusinessCode GmbH, is standing for election to the General Assembly of the Bonn/Rhein-Sieg Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK Bonn/Rhein-Sieg) in this autumn’s elections. He is a candidate in Electoral Group 6 – Information and Telecommunications. As an entrepreneur, he wants to contribute his many years of experience in the IT and software industry while deliberately looking beyond his own sector. His aim is to take responsibility for the region as a business location, strengthen connections between companies and promote dialogue across different industries.
“Many of the challenges businesses face today are no longer confined to individual sectors. Skilled labour, bureaucracy, digitalisation and the question of how we can keep our region competitive affect us all. That is why we need to engage more closely with one another, learn from each other and develop solutions together. This is what I want to contribute to the General Assembly,” says Martin Schulze.
For Schulze, taking responsibility beyond his own company is an integral part of being an entrepreneur. He has been actively involved in voluntary roles for many years, whether in schools, sports clubs or business associations. Most recently, he was appointed to the Federal Economic Senate of the German Association for Small and Medium-sized Businesses (BVMW).
Schulze also brings more than 25 years of experience in IT and software development. Together with his team, he develops digital solutions for companies across a wide range of industries. BusinessCode is based in Bonn while operating internationally. With its customised software solutions, the company supports customers worldwide in digitalising their processes. More than 20,000 users work with BusinessCode solutions.
Working with companies from a wide range of sectors has strongly shaped Schulze’s perspective on business. “For me, digitalisation is not an end in itself. What matters is what it can achieve for businesses. At the same time, I repeatedly see how valuable it is when different industries bring their experiences together. We often face similar questions, even if, at first glance, our companies appear to have little in common.”
Schulze also wants to strengthen these connections within the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He sees the General Assembly as a forum where different entrepreneurial perspectives can come together and form the basis for shared positions on behalf of the regional economy. He also wants to further expand dialogue between business, academia and policymakers.
The General Assembly is the highest elected voluntary body of the Bonn/Rhein-Sieg Chamber of Commerce and Industry. It determines the Chamber’s economic policy positions, approves its budget and sets its strategic direction. Its members are elected by companies belonging to the Chamber within their respective electoral groups. Three seats are available in Electoral Group 6 – Information and Telecommunications.
