Implementing fair and transparent billing between different business partners in a Europe-wide logistics network is not trivial.

Extensive monthly checks and manual corrections were required to ensure reasonably fair billing for each country organization.

BusinessCode therefore developed a solution that compares operational data from the data warehouse with the calculated revenue allocation based on individual transport profiles, automatically verifying the billing that has taken place. The reconciliation runs automatically, making manual checks unnecessary. The solution is based on a transparent rule system that accounts for service quality through a bonus/malus system.

As a result, individual country organizations can now view their financial income and expenses in a Cognos report. The bonus/malus system enables targeted control and influence of each country’s performance.
